[Whether you've met an unfortunately end on the SS Swift, or deep in the depths, wrapped in the crushing tentacles of the kraken... You're not there anymore. You also don't seem to be dead. Maybe. It's difficult to tell, seeing as you no longer have any of the injuries you sustained on the ship... But you're also no longer on the ship.

Your eyes awaken to a cloudless sky, and a dry, dry, desert. A weak breeze struggles to blow even the dust from the cracked earth. There isn't a drop of water for miles around.

But what is around... is a ship. About a dozen yards away from where you've awoken is a tall, two-mast galleon, beached on the wastes, listing to the right.

How did it get here? Who knows. How did YOU get here?

Might be questions for a later time, seeing as you're waking up with your murderer.

[She's just been kind of...quietly here, curious about what's going on but otherwise not certain what she wants to do with any of the things they're seeing; this, however...]

Just gonna walk right up to it and wade in, dress and all, since everyone was being so squeamish about drowning earlier.]

So the ocean is definitely saltwater, that much is clear from the smell alone. It's cold and cool and all those other good ocean water things.

It also fills you with a low sense of... calm and reassurance? ]

...It isn't harmful to go in. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

[Is it behaving like water normally would? Outside of being thermally appropriate and weirdly calming; we're not doing any Moana shit, are we?]

[ It's definitely behaving like normal water! In fact, for right now? One could call it ideal water for sailing. A gentle wind, little to no current other than the basic and expected... but no water tendrils or anything, no. ]

So she's going to just kind of wander a little further in, letting her hands trail through the water a bit; this is nice, okay.]

...Have you been here all along, I wonder? Or are you the work of something else?

[It's said in that sort of idle way that implies she's talking more to herself than really expecting an answer, but if the water is exuding feelings then maybe it'll give her answers too. Or something. Who the hell is she to judge.]

[ The ocean doesn't seem capable of communicating that directly, unfortunately. But one thing that is clear is that the bottom of the sea stays sand at least a little while out. Not too many rocks at all. ]

How is the current feelng, incidentally?]

[ Pulling gently away from the shore. ]

[Good! Because this would be a hell of a way to find out about the riptide that is currently drowning her or something.

Is there anything else here that's immediately noticeable, or is she free to just kinda vibe for a while.]

[ Vibe away! The main thing here is just how nice and accommodating the weather and sea are. ]

[At last, the ocean! Adeline lets out a small gasp of delight when they reach that shore. She's definitely going to join Freyja in diving into there, and she's going to test how far out she can swim. As well as check for anything other than them swimming around in there.]

[ There appears to be no real sea life to speak of other than... crabs, here and there. They all seem to be, generally speaking, moving towards the shore. ]

[Well, far be it from her to stop them. While she's at it, are there any extra shipwreck bits on the ocean floor here?]

[ Not really!

And actually, as you head far enough out, a current seems to form to slow your progress. ]

[Oh, is it? What if she starts swimming parallel to the shore? Is the current slowing her down all along the shoreline?]

[ Nope! There's just a certain point where the current picks up, kinda like a wall. ]
